I saw a meteor!

None of your half-hearted shooting stars that look like a normal star going sideways, no: absolutely huge glowing green thing tearing across the sky, bits breaking off it, in total silence. I honestly thought it was a plane coming down - it was so bright and flying so low. Someone else's videos of it here and here.

If alien spacecraft ever do zap down to land on Earth like this I am pleased to learn what I would actually do, which from experience is: yell "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?" and bolt outside to get a better view.
