re: Mary Magdalene being special because she's transcendant and royal: I don't see why any conservative sexist should be offended by the idea that the best woman (presumably Jesus's partner is meant to be this) isn't really a woman at all but a Mystic Force of the Essential Feminine, whose sole manifestation of greatness is having babies.
