I should not have stayed up to watch Angel last night

Why is it always on so evilly late? No, I know why. It's because anything classed as 'cult' has an audience that'll watch it whenever it's on, so may as well put it in a horrible timeslot, isn't it? Bah. I'm still trying to catch up on all the sleep I missed from Channel 4 putting Babylon 5 on so late in 1997, too.

But it was worth staying up for, as always. I'm glad Connor got to be happy at last (and it didn't come a moment too soon - I appreciate he has very legitimate issues to work with, but I was beginning to wish he'd start working with them off-screen). And I would have agreed to the deal the minute Lilah mentioned Wolfram & Hart letterheaded notepaper, but on balance, Angel's way was probably better.

Speaking of Wolfram & Hart, do they have a plumbing department? Because our boiler has been slowly dying for a long, long time now, and it's getting into the time of year when you really need central heating, and two separate plumbers have 'fixed' it in a way that just made it get worse this week alone. Aaaagh. Now they're talking about taking up floorboards to find a leak. *sobs*

Oh, I loved and adored season 4 of Angel. It totally made up for my season 3 disgruntlement, and in great part because Connor's storyline was such a perfect tragedy. Channeled my love into fanfic, too, The Haunting, Hunted Kind which is about Darla as well, and Ouroborous which deals with Connor post-season 5.

Do we get to see more of Connor after this episode? (After Angel makes the deal with W&H, and Connor gets a family.) I've never read any of your (or anyone else's, come to think of it) Jossverse fic. Anything of yours you'd care to rec which won't spoil me for late S4/S5? (Although I'm pretty spoiled already, through nobody's fault but my own "Is that Fred in your icon? Why does she have blue hair? What?" curiosity.)

We see Connor two times more, in late season 5. (At which point we also find out the names of his new family, btw.)

My Jossverse stories:
An unspoilery Angel story which was written at your present state of canon, which remains a favourite of mine:

An even earlier story, exclusively about Darla:

I've written several more, including some dealing with the Sunnydale characters, but I don't know whether you've watched BTVS as well, and if so, whether you've watched the entire thing, which is necessary for at least one of them.

Thanks! I'll go read.

I've seen pretty much every BtVS episode up until about mid-season 6, then some at random intervals after that.( I didn't see the last episode, but thanks to a housemate who did and has a better memory than I do, know what happens right down to large chunks of dialogue.)

My favourite BtVS-inspired fanfic is probably City Girls, which is about Buffy and Dawn post-Chosen. (I.e. the finale; for the record, it's canon - thanks to a season 5 AtS remark - that they end up in Rome.) You can find it here:

I'm also somewhat fond of my first attempt at the Five Things Which Never Happened... format, which I wrote about Warren:
