All is fandom

(Don't ask about the thesis.)

Comment with one of my fandoms, or a fandom you think I might know, and I'll reply with:

01. The first character I first fell in love with
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't
04. The character I love that everyone else hates
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer
06. The character I would shag anytime
07. The character I'd want to be like
08. The character I'd slap
09. A pairing that I love
10. A pairing that I despise

01. The first character I first fell in love with - Ivanova. I was told I'd love her beforehand, and oh, they were right.
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now - Delenn. Partly, I think, because I started watching mid-Season 4, when she got long stretches of being just Sheridan's Girlfriend. Seeing Season 1 after that was a big surprise.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't - Kosh. I've read some great fic, but I didn't get him in canon.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates - Lt. Keffer, the first casualty of the Shadow war. I know, I know...
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer - I liked Sheridan better in S2-3 than in S4-5, but I watched them partly in reverse, so it's closer to the other way round ;)
06. The character I would shag anytime - Neroon. Whaaaaat?
07. The character I'd want to be like - Delenn, if only to be quite that good at manipulating the universe.
08. The character I'd slap - Most of the people who need to be slapped for their own good get much worse slaps in canon, so it seems a bit unfair to add to that. (Except for Byron, but probably most of fandom wants to slap Byron, so the same applies.) Maybe Sheridan, occasionally, for some idiotic decisions. ("So there we were, in the future, in this apocalyptic wasteland in which Something Very Bad had Very Clearly Happened, and you begged me not to go to Z'Ha'Dum, so I thought - well, maybe going to Z'Ha'Dum would fix it!" I can't picture the educated-by-Jesuits Sinclair coming out with that sort of reasoning.) Also, for screwing over Lyta.
09. A pairing that I love - Delenn/Lennier. Dysfunctional Minbari love.
10. A pairing that I despise - uh. Sheridan/Delenn, but not, not, I swear to Valen, in one of those it's-my-OTP-or-the-highway things. I just... think that had the potential to be a really interesting pairing, and then post-Z'Ha-Dum it was... not. And mostly isn't in fandom, either, which is weird. I mean, I'm all for fluff if fluff is what people want to write, but there's a whole lot of angst built right into the structure of the pairing what with the whole Starkiller/starting-the-war thing, and it's just... ignored, a lot of the time. Which is a shame.

I hear you on seeing things out of order. The first episode I saw was "Severed Dreams" during the late-afternoon TNT run (truly the best of after-school programming). It was very disorienting seeing season one after three and four.

Kosh. I've read some great fic, but I didn't get him in canon.

I admired his haughtiness. I must admit, though, that my favorite Kosh plotline was when he ran for President.
