I figured the never stated but implicit dominance of the religious caste was one of the reasons why the warrior caste was not so secretly boiling with resentment...
Yes, that would work - I think they wouldn't even have been able to give the surrender order during the war unless there was some understanding that the religious caste came first. And the worker caste, of course, hardly count at all. I find it fascinating that they revere Valen's memory as holy, but they refuse to play along with his ideas for equality in Minbari society. So much for the we're-more-civilised-than-the-other-races image they try to show...
