Heh. I thought that too. The worst was the line when he tells his male students to think of sex as worshipping the sacred feminine. If I were one of his female students, I'd have been thinking about reporting him for sexual harrassment, although with such a high-profile high-ego prof I'd probably be too scared to actually do it. And as icky as it is to give your male students sex advice in class while objectifying the women, what's even worse is that it's *wrong*. There's nothing I'd like less than having my partner not pay attention to *me* because he's got his mind on his own mystical fantasies. Uck.
Yes, motherhood needs to be recognized as sacred. No, that's not an excuse for failing to recognize a woman's personhood, and the sacredness inherent in that. And it makes me crazy out of my mind that anyone would consider stuff like this empowering for women.
