Funny you should say that. Two years ago, the boat from Heysham to Belfast had been cancelled and we were re-directed to Troon.

I swear, as soon as we saw that 'Welcome to Scotland' sign, there was rain, rain and more bloody rain. Couldn't see 2ft in front of myself, it was that bad.

Thing is, England was in a heatwave. A bloody glorious heatwave. Oh the irony, it burnt.

It seems to be a phenomenon unique to Scotland... Not even crossing the S.Ireland/N.Ireland border is that bad!
