At work, so I can't get as into this as I'd like, but I did enjoy this post. And you make an excellent point - the same POV plot device was used in Stargate SG1 back in season 7 (Heroes 1 & 2), and made for incredible, award-winning viewing, but I loathed the damn documentary maker. From an objective point of view he was probably right - he was just doing his job in trying to make the best documentary possible on the Stargate Program for later public viewing. But from the viewers' emotionally invested viewpoint, he was a nosy, insensitive clod. We were meant to dislike him, and we did.

PS: I love how I can read all the BSG spoilers I want to and still not have a clue what's going on. I love that show, and have sat through the whole first season twice, but I still can't put a name to most of the characters, and so much happens in any given episode that many events just slide right through my mind. I may as well just be in it for Starbuck and give up on the rest. :)
